The World Health Organization estimates that there are over 350 million people worldwide who struggle with depression. It is also the leading cause of disability worldwide. Similar to anxiety, depression affects people of all races, ages and genders, however it has been shown that women are more likely to be affected than men. Depression is a growing problem. In America specifically, approximately 17% of adults will suffer from a season of depression at some point in their lives. This rate has been increasing since 1915 and the trend shows that it will continue to do so
