Philosophy of EducationI want to become a teacher. I must be out of my mind. At least that's what almost everyone tells me when I tell them my plans for the future. Maybe I should become a doctor, a lawyer, or own a business. No, I'm going to realize the dream I've had since I was in elementary school. I always have one question to answer: “Why do you want to become a teacher? Are you out of your mind?" I ask who shapes the minds of the children of these doctors, lawyers and businessmen as they work. I also ask how these people could become doctors, lawyers and businessmen without teachers to give them the gift of education and skills needed to do one's job. I want to shape the minds of others. I wrote about becoming a teacher that moment on, it's all I ever wanted to be. Growing up, teachers had a great influence on my life and I hope I can do the same when I become a teacher , a teacher's salary isn't as horrible as it seems. Plus, the benefits, like insurance and pension, make up for the low salary they will allow me to spend time with my family, travel and do other things I enjoy. The last and most important reason why I chose to become a teacher is that it will be a rewarding experience to see children learn and use the things I teach them. I've had some great teachers in the past, and I've had some who weren't all that great. ...middle of the paper...until the day I become Mr. Hartwell, English/Language Arts teacher. In conclusion, I don't think I'm crazy at all for wanting to become a teacher. No matter how many people try to dissuade me, even if he or she is a teacher, I will achieve my dream and become a teacher. I will never discourage anyone from becoming a teacher. Teachers help boys and girls become men and women, the little boy who stained the carpet with his chemistry prepares to become a world-famous scientist or a pharmacist, little girls who cook with their easy-to-bake ovens become owners of successful restaurant chains. I want to be the teacher that students write about in an essay about the teacher who had the greatest influence on their life, or be named teacher of the year, or receive a compliment with a simple “Thank you Mr. Hartwell. You are really strong.¨
