Over time and through many studies of philosophy, the question of how we should behave as individuals has been posed by many of the world's greatest thinkers. Some of the most insightful approaches to how one should behave are found in the philosophies of African Communitarianism or "Ubuntu" of Munyaka and Mokgethi Motlhabi and Aristotle's Existentialism or Virtue Ethics. Ubuntu is known as a set of institutionalized institutions that direct the life patterns of Africans. Africans consider Ubuntu to be the most important quality of umntu (a human being). According to Chinkanda, it is defined as a positive quality that one possesses. It is the eternal state of being or the very essence of being human. Individuals are considered as an entire community. It is a disposition and concerns values that contribute to the well-being of other individuals and the community. Ubuntu identifies with behaving according to one's human nature and, consequently, in a way befitting a human being. Someone who lacks Ubuntu is considered inhuman. It represents a behavior that is instilled in individuals by society over a period of time. It is not just a manifestation of individual acts. It is best described as a spiritual foundation and inner state or disposition for good that motivates, challenges, and causes others to perceive, feel, and act in a humane way. Ubuntu is a lifestyle that seeks to promote and manifest itself and is best achieved by making it evident in harmonious relationships within society. One of the fundamental focal points of Ubuntu ethics is that a person is a person, through other people. This helps eliminate personal egos and that is why Africans are more willing to… middle of paper… ideal society with the basic vision of anarchism. No state is the ideal state. The government is tyrannical, violent, and prevents people from living as human beings. Religion is evil and allows us to subjugate ourselves, which deprives us of freedom. It also doesn't downplay violence and things like negative emotions and actions. She is much more for violence than against it. While Aristotle focused on virtues and moved away from extremes, Goldman welcomes what Aristotle would have labeled evil. He is very supportive of radical ideas and actions that would be vices or actions and emotions that have no means. He believes that these radical ideas help address the teething problems that come our way that we sometimes choose to ignore. According to virtue ethics, however, this would distance us further from Eudaimonia because it would go against our function as human beings..
