Freedom has changed in many ways and taken many forms throughout history. The focus has shifted from religion, to equality, national sovereignty and personal freedom. The reasons for fighting for freedom are still changing today and will always be a problem because people feel they don't have enough while the government feels they have too much. It's very difficult to find that middle ground between the two. The boundaries of freedom are also constantly changing, and freedom also has some social conditions that accompany it. When certain social conditions are not met, some rights that people have can easily be deprived. This balance changes in several ways on important issues including gaining independence for religion, gaining the right to self-government, freedom of equality for different races and genders, and several wars fought for the freedom of other people villages. From day one, Americans have been willing to give their lives to protect our freedom. The desire to be free has always existed and will always exist. One of the initial forms that freedom took was to allow people to practice whatever religion they wanted, and freedom has evolved from a very narrow vision to a very broad vision throughout history. In an effort to achieve religious freedom, colonists came to America wanting more opportunity and not just religious freedom. Once they arrived, they found things much more difficult politically because they had to follow all the rules of the English Parliament and everyone had their own religious beliefs and ideals about how the government would be run. This debate over American sovereignty is what caused the start of the American Revolution. Freedom to not have the Tea and Stamp Acts and to have a say…in the middle of the paper…the beautiful agreement for all groups, regardless of the many previous oppressions once imposed on people. Those who follow the laws and are over the age of eighteen have the right to vote for whoever they want in office, you have the right to run for office and own and keep your guns in your home. Some rights will always be challenged by some people who seek to push boundaries, and if pushed far enough, some of these rights may become more limited and/or it may be more difficult to obtain certain items. An example would be public shootings because people exercise their right to use guns but take the lives of others and because of this some things are becoming more difficult to understand. A great example is firearm ammunition and the ability to actually purchase and own a gun. The process for some things becomes longer to protect the rights of others.
