Global warming, also known as climate change, is the term used to illustrate a continuing expansion of the Earth's standard surface air and sea temperatures since about 1950. (White, 2013 ) Climate change leads to a permanent increase in the average temperature of the atmosphere. Although there are still several discussions going on between various groups, the scientist has managed to verify that the planet is in a condition of warming every year, and this is becoming the most serious problem for our planet. There could be any number of different factors leading to global warming, but it is mostly linked to human interference, particularly the release of continued levels of greenhouse gases. Global warming is believed to have numerous impacts on the planet. The range of snow cover in the world has gradually decreased since 1970. As we can see, the reduction of Arctic sea ice is one of the most histrionic influences of global warming. Scientists observed the lowest volume of Arctic ice cover ever recorded in 2012. Several analysis projects indicate that the Arctic Sea will be completely ice-free during the summer months within a few years. Simultaneous melting of polar ice, ice sheets and glaciers in many areas is expected to significantly increase sea levels. Recent research shows that global warming will likely be a factor leading to the extinction of up to a third of Earth's fauna and half of Earth's flora at current scales by 2080.
