Not all young people share these qualities and interests. Military service is a very prestigious and highly responsible job that requires the highest degree of skill, enthusiasm and dedication. If we were to realize that a large part of these forces are forced to do their jobs and may not be as skilled as expected, we would be concerned about national security and feel insecure. There is also a certain degree of possibility that if an individual is forced into military training they may abuse the knowledge against ordinary citizens. Some people aren't cut out for a certain job and some are. It would be like forcing someone to become a surgeon for 1 year against their will – Lord, save the patients! They will do it as a job and not as a passion and work done without passion rarely gives the desired results. This would create chaos and confusion among the youth and result in limbo. Thus military service made compulsory for young people would not only result in a nightmare for young people but also for society. Compulsory military service propagates the military mentality and slows progress towards many other qualities such as international thinking.
