In a joint effort with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Cambodian officials, Adidas helped solve prison labor problems in Cambodia. Likewise, Adidas has partnered with the Uzbek government to help end forced labor in that country. (Adidas17, 2015). Adidas wanted to support Greenpeace International's (a non-governmental environmental organization) goal of zero emissions of chemicals and hazardous substances at all points in the global supply chain. (Adidas18, 2015). Adidas has worked with various local government organizations in Indonesia to develop guidelines for exercising trade union rights in the workplace. The signing of the protocol can be considered a "historic pact" between Adidas and its colleagues, suppliers and unions.
