My initial inspiration for this piece was Trifles, who strangely only shares the feature of the detectives involved in the plot. As suggested in my proposal, I further developed my idea of ​​detectives solving a case by including dialogue and relationships between staff similar to those found in Glengarry Glen Ross. Taking the idea of ​​several members of the real estate office discussing work and plots in Glengarry Glen Ross and applying it to a trio of detectives working on a case was interesting to say the least. After first thinking about what I wanted to convey, I knew that some form of conspiracy would be present. This was done in the reveal at the end that Chris was actually working with their leader to kill some members of the force. Solving the murders would be good for the district, and as an added incentive, Chris would get a raise.
