Students were less interested in the lesson than the previous lesson taught. My last class I taught was a gameshow format on the Chinese chapter. The students loved that lesson. It fully engaged all students and they really enjoyed participating in a competition within the learning environment. Not only was the standard lecture less interesting, but questions weren't answered as easily. Making students feel like they are part of the lesson instead of just watching the lesson has a huge impact. The students knew that at the end of the lesson there would be an immediate reward for the team that did best and they worked hard to try to get the reward. Students in the lecture still received the information they needed, but were less likely to take that knowledge with them after the lesson. I want to make sure that every time I am the teacher; I incorporate as much interaction as possible to ensure that students receive the maximum benefit from my lessons. They will be able to take with them not only the knowledge that I give them, but also how they acquired the knowledge so that they have skills for the future.
