Although the government will not restrict access to the Internet, this does not mean that anyone can publish illegal content with exception and in violation of the law. Any act is illegal in the physical world; it will likewise be banned in the online environment. Therefore, laws prohibiting the publication of, for example, immoral/improper or other illegal material will be continuously enforced. (Multimedia Super Corridor Malaysia, 2012) In relation to the matter, designated ministries and agencies will continue to take appropriate actions and enforce laws that are under their special attention. (Multimedia Super Corridor Malaysia, 2012) Censorship has been a controversial issue among local authorities and civil rights groups. With the law limited on the press and publications in the print and broadcast media, many conflicting opinions have ended up on the Internet to publish their opinions. (Bakar, 2012) In today's community, some individuals believe that there is total freedom on the Internet. They believed that there was no law prohibiting them from posting material on the Internet. Despite their beliefs, complete freedom on the Internet is false. The only flaw that the Internet has compared to the usual media in Malaysia is that production on the Internet does not need to apply for a production permit from the government. Nonetheless, they have to deal with other laws that apply to Internet publishing, which has always kept an eye on the mainstream media. For example, the Internal Security Act, the Official Secrets Act, the laws against sedition, slander and defamation, and contempt of court.
