The Coffee Shop has been around since 1992. Many people come in and out of the Coffee Shop every day, you might even be one of these people who make a quick stop on their way to class. But as soon as you exited the building you noticed the small crack at the base of the wall. Where an angry employee threw a tray full of cups? Most likely not, this is one of the many stories that have been shared with me by The Coffee Shop employees, regulars and people who have never set foot in The Coffee Shop. With a place that has been around for so long The Coffee Shop certainly has some great stories to tell. One begins with an innocent-looking sophomore entering the Coffee Shop. As he strutted into the bar with bad intentions, he assessed the local talent that resided within the building. He couldn't help but want to sit next to the lone dark-haired woman sipping a java in the corner. The attack was underway, recognizing the book she was reading he approached her with a nonchalant question. “Are you studying for your math test this week?” He knew it was, and his answer, as expected, was “yes.” It was all downhill from here. In the role of the innocent schoolboy, he skillfully managed to overcome her hesitant behavior and convince her to study with him that evening at the bar. He met her at Jitters as planned and the evening turned into a great study session. Which he had planned, as he didn't want to seem overly aggressive or desperate. As the night drew to a close, her guard also did the same thing, he asked her if she wanted something to drink. She was very receptive to his proposal. He chose a good espresso with a glass of amaretto. Could he say that after studying with her all night he trusted her op... middle of paper... stories put together? The answer is simple: they don't. These stories, true or false, are memories of people who have had some kind of encounter with the Jitters café. And what an amazing coffee it is. So, you can listen to people like Evan Larkin who has never been to Jitters and claims that "coffee shops are all the same and The Coffee Shop is no different. They are people who think they are better than everyone else and have an attitude, it doesn't do for me, only fags go there." Or you can take a half-mile walk from campus and find out for yourself. Now the choice is in your hands: "I'll be here tomorrow at the same time, come and visit us!" Bibliography: Chrissy "Jitters employee". Interview. March 27, 2014Erica "Regular coffee shop".
