Progressives believe that the student and/or learner should be the center of attention, they also believe that teachers should act as guides to help students achieve their objectives (Philosophy of education). Bearing in mind the words of the mission statement, it can be concluded that students are the heart of the school as they must be valued, engaged, stimulated and inspired. As discussed above, the school also shares a couple of characteristics of essentialism.
