Discrimination Issues Appearing During Halloween Since time immemorial, hell has been a source of inspiration for costumes used during Halloween. In contemporary society, showing up on Halloween dressed as a goblin, zombie or ghost is less likely to become a devoted follower of the event enough to receive sufficient appreciation. Popular culture has managed to replace the underworld in terms of providing influential costumes for the event. The appearance of individuals of different races increasingly dominating pop culture is leading costume lovers to face a host of problems. The biggest question has always been whether it is ethical to dress or appear dressed as someone of a different race during Halloween. This factor is largely based on the costume an individual chooses and how they end up presenting the costume. It also depends on what the individual wearing the costume represents or duplicates during the event. In view of all the complexities involved in choosing an appropriate dress code, it remains imperative to show enthusiasm while choosing a certain attire. Observing one's dress code prevents an individual from committing a racial gaffe which can occur when the person wears clothing that derogates another race. It is important for an individual to dress in a unique way that does not represent any particular culture. It is never OK to show up to the event dressed up as Asian, Black or Mexican for Halloween. Wearing a dress code that represents a particular racial group fails to create an appropriate costume. The desire to appear in a dress code that depicts a general minority during Halloween is a clear indication that the individual is stereotyping a specific group. This is important because I... middle of paper......me describes a very serious mental disorder that led the individual to a series of murders. This strengthened the forced apprehension to prevent the individual from killing people. This aspect does not represent the real picture regarding the mentally ill. It is a derogatory custom towards the mentally ill and their loved ones. Halloween costumes usually arouse controversy in many social aspects, and the trend is constantly exposed to diversification. Racial and other forms of discrimination continue to affect target members of society in positive and negative ways. Affected races and the mentally ill are typical targets in this matter, and their situation needs consideration. People should avoid identifying offensive customs to remain ethical in society. Ethical concerns are the biggest contributors to the issue and need maximum involvement.
