LONG AGO, or perhaps not so long ago, there was a tribe in a dark, cold cave. The cave dwellers huddled together and cried against the cold. They cried loudly and for a long time. It was all they did. It was all they knew how to do. The sounds in the cave were eerie, but the people did not know this, because they had never known life. But then, one day, they heard a different voice. “I heard your screams,” he announced. “I felt your cold and saw your darkness. I have come to help." The cave people fell silent. They had never heard this voice. Hope sounded strange to their ears. "How can we know that you have come to help?" "Trust me," he replied. "I have that what you need." For a long time no one spoke. People walked around in groups covering their eyes. The fireman stood by the fire. “It's hot in here,” he invited. “You're right,” someone behind him announced. "It's warmer." The stranger turned and saw a figure slowly approaching the fire. “I can open my eyes now,” he proclaimed. "I can see." “Come closer,” the fireman invited. He did it. He entered the ring of light. “It's so hot!” He held out his hands and sighed as the cold began to lift. “Come everyone! Feel the heat,” he invited. “Silence, woman!” – shouted one of the cave dwellers. “Do you dare lead us into your madness? Leave us and take your light with you.” He turned to the stranger. “Because they won't come?
