When I first heard about this project, I immediately knew that I wanted to turn my project into a work of art. My argument was that students with special needs should be in a typical classroom. I chose this median because I have always had a passion for art, but the main reason I chose this median is because I have seen many students with special needs reflect through art. In my personal experience, children with special needs are often very skilled at art, or simply love creating pictures, paintings, etc. Since most students with special needs love art, I decided it would be nice if I could discuss through art. . The audience for which I created my project are teachers, students and parents. My project is open to interpretation. Different people will have different feelings when they watch it. Although my goal in creating this project was to discuss students with special needs in typical classrooms, I think there are many other ideas when looking at this median. When I approached this project, I knew I wanted to have different types of children together holding hands together. I also found that I wanted to have both positive and negative words that students with special needs are regularly called. But other than these few things, I left my project open. When I was thinking about creating my own project, I went to Michael for ideas and the tools needed to reformulate my thesis. I left Michael with a blank white canvas, paint and clear beads. That night, I went back and looked at my exploratory paper and my research paper to find the words I would use surrounding the children. The authors I used in my other articles had different examples of words that others called children with special needs, both postulating...... middle of paper......, I felt more connected to my topic and my argument. I have come to the conclusion that students with special needs should be in mainstream classrooms because all the difference between students can create a better community. Even though the beads didn't work on my first painting, I decided to layer them on the students. This affection creates a distortion in students. As I said before, I want the audience to have their own interpretation of the painting, and the distortion of the beads did just that. After working on this project, I have come to the conclusion that typical students and students with special needs should come together because our differences can be beneficial to each other. I really liked this project, I felt that I not only advocate for students with special needs to be present in typical classrooms, but I also advocated for students with differences to come together.
