Ethnic diversity to see, from African Americans to Muslims or Native Americans was more common than hearing about people moving. All people in New York seem to have a connection through knowledge of cultures, places and encounters. New Yorkers become a family, bigger than me and my parents. My family had become a generation of college graduates. My parents could only afford to attend a community college and were very fortunate to be able to go to college, both graduating with master's degrees. Because of my family's relationship with college attendance, I was always expected to go to college right after high school. Since both my parents went to community colleges, they also seem to be heading into the same career area: law enforcement. This was no surprise to the family on my father's side as most of his brothers, my uncles, became police officers or prison officers. My grandparents on both sides of my family worked in the government while living in Puerto Rico. I became very aware of the fact that both of my parents were in law enforcement at a young age.
