Maricruz De La Torre Professor MarquelEnglish 1014 March 2015 Eliminating Misconceptions About Feminism in the Hope of Clarity There are existing forces that prevent societies from thriving to their full potential, we are cut short when it comes to realizing what we as human beings are capable of. For some people, being oppressed, harassed, and mistreated happens on a daily basis. This brings me to the conclusion that we have a long way to go when it comes to human rights. We have come a long way in the modern technological age, it is said that we are an advanced type, but I believe it is essential to question these claims. By doing this we can see the flaws that have emerged from the human experience and even the flaws within the social rights movement. The resulting defects consist of conflicts over some property and ownership of some kind, even within a social rights movement. We live in a white supremacist capitalist patriarchal society, a society that consists of economic greed, supported by the ideologies of “he” and Christianity. Oppressive forces cause unjust relationships to develop, extending from within our homes to the entire country. This domination-based culture prevents equitable distribution of resources and results in the absence of choices by race, class, and… middle of paper… and embed this awareness. Feminism allows for a place of transformation because true feminism covers the full spectrum of underprivileged circumstances and it all starts from a place of love for a better future.
