Murawski has coached Susanna for the past four years, which helped her earn a spot in the Scripps National Spelling Bee last year. The most appealing thing about spelling bees is that no matter how old you are, chances are it was part of your upbringing. Putting an adult twist on a fun childhood memory was the main idea behind the event. “Children are better at spelling than adults. They don't have much upstairs, so they have large amounts of empty memory space that they can fill, with words," Murawski said jokingly. In response to her father's comment, Susanna laughed.
