These days, housing issues are one of the worst problems, not only for downtown Seattle students, but also for any college or university student in the United States. According to homeguides.sfgate.com, students suffer in getting a house or apartment in terms of cost and space. Apartments close to our school, in particular, are more expensive than other schools. What's worse, international students face more severe problems because the cost of housing is rising. Of course, the cost of housing becomes cheaper if the apartment is a little further from downtown Seattle. However, students have to give up accessibility and convenience, which are also important to students. The dormitory might be one of the best alternatives, but it has very limited capacity and is as expensive as the apartments near our school. As I already said, the housing issue should be resolved as soon as possible. To do this, the school must consider how to resolve costs and the small dormitory. To be specific, regarding the cost aspect, apartments that are located near downtown Seattle are so expensive. For example, if we walk 20 minutes across Madison Street, there is an apartment called Summit in Madison Park. For a one bedroom, the cost is around $1450. However, near our school, one bedroom apartments cost around $1700. This example shows that there is obviously a gap. However, entire universities or college districts in the United States have similar problems in solving the expensive housing costs near each school, the school should provide a solution. To solve this problem, the school needs to contract with apartments close to our school so that students can get discounts when students contract with those apartments. For example, since students pay rent for a month; the school pays for...... half of the paper......mitory due to high demand. Actually, even though I wanted to live in a dorm, I dropped out because I was sharing a studio with more than 2 students. So I thought that many students might have the same experience with me, so I interviewed some students. According to several interviews, if the dormitory has a larger room and a cheaper price, most students said they prefer the dormitory. In conclusion, the school should solve the students' housing problems regarding costs and small dormitory. To do this, the school would have to contract with apartments near downtown Seattle or expand this small dormitory. Furthermore, the school should defend the student's position. Then the school recognizes the need to improve these problems and must pursue these solutions. If these problems are resolved, students will be able to devote all their effort to studying and the school will be able to retain competent students.
