In July 2008, they announced to the public that they would close 600 stores in the United States. According to Starbucks, store closures may vary based on various factors, but are not limited to risks associated with the final stages of third-party agreements, expected cost savings, income taxes and other benefits associated with closing stores on time expected. Although Starbucks stores are closing locations, they have done the right thing by notifying the appropriate stores first but also letting the public know what is happening.
