Even the not so glorious things are endless. Mosquitoes are ferocious. They don't care where you come from, how you got there, or where you're going. When they see an opportunity for untouched meat, they take it. They like sweet blood, which of course I have. Nobody likes mosquitoes in Portland, but they're nothing like the ones in Hawaii. They can disrupt your trip due to severe itching. It's not like a normal insect bite, because it's hot and your skin gets irritated ten times faster. The itching is continuous. My grandmother took some medicine from the doctors to stop the itching, it lasted about an hour. When the bug bites go away, you feel free, and then you get ten more. This is the thing that gets on my nerves the most about Hawaii. Kauai is the island where my grandmother lived. This island is where you go hiking and see beautiful views. This is also the island that rains a lot. But it's not just any rain. It's a warm rain. My brother and I went to an artificial pool while it was raining.
