Generally when someone feels the need to connect with something or someone greater than themselves or feels the need to reconnect with themselves, they turn to meditation of some kind or drugs, usually a hallucinogen such as LSD. In the article Temperament and character modify the risk of drug addiction and influence the choice of drugs, Milivojevic et. al. discuss personality as a factor in drug use, addiction, and drug choice. Although the case study only considers opiate users, alcohol users and a control group, it shows that a person with a high novelty-seeking personality, in addition to less reward dependence, is more likely to have a opioid addiction. Those with a high novelty-seeking and high harm-avoidance personality are more likely to become an alcoholic. From reading the text and the article, I believe that personality type is a strong indicator of whether or not a person will try drugs, and if they try, whether or not they will become addicted. While this is not always a 100% accurate indicator of drug use and addiction, personality in combination with certain social situations or factors such as the immediate environment is likely to indicate the possibility of drug use and a possible
