Bartolo Jr. Valastro also known as Buddy is a skilled fourth generation baker at Carlo's Bakery, where he was born into the business owned and operated by his parents. He is the master baker, cake decorator and star of the hit TLC series Cake Boss. Buddy followed in the footsteps of his father, who followed his father, and so on. Her father is her inspiration when it comes to baking cakes for all the people who come to the bakery. The Cake Boss himself and the bakery became famous when Buddy was invited to participate in the Food Network Challenge in 2004. He lost, but competed in three more challenges and won first prize. After participating in the Food Network Challenge, two of the show's cameramen came to Buddy and encouraged him to keep his show going. Thus Cake Boss was born. On March 3, 1977, Bartolo Jr. Valastro was born in Little Ferry, NJ.
