Essay on Romeo and JulietAct 3, Scene 5 and Act 4, Scene 5 are set in the bedroom Juliet's bed in the Capulet villa, "Verona". To begin with, the atmosphere in Act 3, scene 5 is very romantic, gentle, loving and moves at a slow pace, but when Romeo leaves and Lady Capulet enters, the atmosphere becomes aggressive, offensive and upsetting and takes a faster pace. This is unusual as the beginning of the scene where the language used was quite sweet and gentle. But when Lady Capulet enters the scene, the language becomes aggressive and very harsh language is used. The atmosphere in the second scene is different because at the beginning the atmosphere is very lively, fast-paced and exciting as it is Juliet's wedding with Paris, but as the show progresses, the atmosphere quickly changes from emotional to sad and from fast paced to slow paced and also turns into shocking and stressful. This change in atmosphere occurs because of Juliet's fake death where Shakespeare uses dramatic irony which involves the audience in the play as they know more than some of the characters in the play. In Act 3, Scene 5 and Act 4, Scene 5, we believe that Capulet is a contradictory person. In scene 5 he is provoked by Juliet's disobedience, who does not agree to marry Paris, and becomes very angry. He angrily tells Juliet very hurtful things that he doesn't really mean. Like "Hang yourself, young baggage, disobedient wretch." He becomes so angry that he doesn't even let Juliet speak. He uses imperative verbs which show us that he is prominent as he is the head of the house and quickly regains power and authority after feeling threatened that Juliet is taking away his authority. This is not normal in the Elizabethan era as society was......center of the card......Juliet's marriage is illegal as her age is only 13 and her forced marriage to Paris. They will also be shocked by Lady Capulet because a mother cares for her child but Lady Capulet doesn't care about Juliet. The effect on the Elizabethan audience is that they will be shocked by the behavior of two specific characters. Juliet and the nurse, this is because they opposed Lord Capulet, which is really unlikely because it was a patriotic society. These scenes are important to the rest of the play because in these scenes Shakespeare uses irony such as references to death such as Juliet's vision of Romeo dead in the tomb. Lady Capulet wishes Juliet was dead. Then Juliet's fake death and then the real death at the end of the show. All these are connected because at the beginning we only talk about death and then the fake death happens followed by the real death of Juliet.
