Utanapishtim explained to Gilgamesh how he did not believe he was worthy of immortality; he then challenged Gilgamesh to a challenge in which he failed terribly. After Utanapishtim sends Gilgamesh away, he tells them to return and explains to them about a plant that can rejuvenate the person who eats it. He eventually finds the plant but after a series of unfortunate events he realizes that he won't be able to live forever. He comes to accept it, goes home and has an awakening. He understands that he may not be able to live forever, but his legacy will. Learn that being an exceptional, caring, and selfless leader is the way to live forever in history.
