As diversity in the classroom progresses, there are always tensions among students, which reflects on the teachers. Educating students from different cultures puts the teacher in a position where it is essential to identify ways to make a classroom safe and eliminate all the stereotypes that students face on a daily basis. Teachers must recognize these stereotypes and overcome them among students, “examining their own role in the perpetuation of institutional racism” (Kendall, 1996, p.4). Once successful, resulting in a harmonized classroom, teacher and students will explore a new space full of fun activities and learning. Being in a classroom full of tension is not easy for any student. When I was starting to work side by side
