Topic > Importance of a Speech Therapist - 725

My main motivation for being a helper is the fact that by working with children, later in life these children will know that they have someone to turn to in the future, for whatever reason. I would be considered an informal helper if I only talked to them as a friend, but being a speech pathologist, I would also be considered a physical helper. When I was a child, I had a physical assistant, who was my doctor and my speech therapist. When it came to having problems with my parents getting angry because they couldn't understand me, I would go and talk to my speech therapist about how to solve these problems. I would also like to have my informal helpers who were my friends, hairdresser and family. I would talk to these people daily because we all lived in the same city and because they cared about me. All of these people helped me get through some of the worst times in my life, but they also made so many good things happen for me. Seeing all these people do those little things for me made me want to be able to do the same for anyone who needs a friend or someone to be there to guide me
