Several religious groups are strongly against these practices because they go against their belief that all life is sacred. Some of the religions that do not believe in assisted suicide are Buddhism, Baptist, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam (Religion and Spirituality). These religions believe that only the Supreme Being (God) has the right to decide when someone's life will end. Assisted suicide not only goes against religious beliefs but also goes against doctors' goals. A doctor's goal is to help relieve a patient's pain and help them survive and recover. Although participating in the death of a patent may be just the opposite, it can help relieve pain, which is another goal of doctors. Taking another person's life can be a difficult thing to do, but if it involves increasing pain it can be a heroic action that doctors have a responsibility to provide. Although this action, taking the life of another, is considered wrong by society, it can help patents by eliminating suffering and pain. The law on assisted suicide is strict, in fact in 1997 the Florida Supreme Court declared that "there is no right to assisted suicide under the Florida Constitution" (Legal Status). Although euthanasia is frowned upon by the general public and doctors due to religious beliefs and goals, it is used on animals, so why not use it on
