The directors do this by showing some of the best footage from the film, but not enough that you know what's going on. While the clips are shown, an American voice usually gives you a short synopsis. Other information provided about the movie is director, lead actor, age certificate and release date. The horror genre has a good market because many people like to be scared senselessly. There are also different types of horror, such as teen horror and horror comedy. You can get horror films with lots of sound effects and robot zombies, or films that have no sound effects and only use light and shadow to create tension. When you see a trailer for a horror movie you expect to see certain things in it. These are called horror conventions. Typical horror conventions include close-ups of a character, thunder and lightning, and a large creaky door in an old abandoned house. These are things seen in almost every horror movie, as they create a scary atmosphere and are easy to do. Music and sound effects are very useful for horror films. Generally the music they use is jarring and disturbing. In a very scary part of the movie, the music usually becomes faster and louder, especially when you see a character running away from something or someone, and when the character has hidden, the music becomes much quieter and sometimes you hear him breathing or whisper. The most used sound effects are a creaking door, a clock striking midnight and a "helpless" woman screaming. In the trailer for "The Others", many different camera angles were used to heighten the tension. They would use a close-up of one person, then flash directly onto another character. This was a good technique because you could see the characters' expressions and it also held the audience's attention. Another good use of the camera was when you saw for a long time
