The Smart Grid is one of the features of the smart city model. It is an energy consumption monitoring and management system. Smart grids are based on communication between supplier and consumer. One of the main problems with today's aging network is efficiency. The network becomes overloaded during peak hours or seasons. It is also possible to hack the system and essentially draw electricity for free. Using the smart grid, the consumer and the owner get daily reading of electricity consumption, and the owner can cut off the electricity supply remotely via the Internet if the bill is not paid.
