Topic > My motivation for studying photonic systems

Since my childhood, I have always wanted a fulfilling life in the field of engineering, ever since my secondary school days when I was introduced to optics in physics. I pay close attention to even the smallest details of my education so that my knowledge continues to increase gradually. At different stages of my personal development and career, I tend to set well-defined goals so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment every time the goal is achieved. The MASc will provide me with the opportunity to have a good basic understanding of photonics and its wide range of applications, learn more about optical fiber sensing, fabrication methods, silicon-based photonics and prepare for a PhD program in the same field that is my primary goal for taking this second Master's, which I hope to accelerate if possible. I have currently formulated a new goal: to update and enrich my knowledge about photonic systems by seeking another Master's program at the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. I am convinced that this program will not only represent the cornerstone in my pursuit of academic excellence but professional excellence. With all this, I should be able to fit into different industries, from oil and gas, to aerospace, infrastructure, biomedical, automotive and communication. Say no to plagiarism. Core courses and topics such as Electronics and Microprocessor Technology, Digital Circuit, Analog Circuit, Industrial Electronics, Signal and System taught me how to proceed with a basic concept, from which to generalize a principle, leading to methodology and technology. Courses such as Optoelectronics, Wave Optics, and Mathematical Modeling exposed me to the underlying principles that govern different approaches. The most advanced courses in Fiber and Integrated Optics, Laser Technique, Laser Systems and Applications, Laser Measurement Systems, Laser Technology and Fiber Optics have led me to the development of cutting-edge technologies and research on a global level. Subsequently my industrial practices, interdisciplinary projects and final research work allowed me to improve my practical skills, real-time applications and research capabilities. Due to my academic performance at university level, I was awarded a Russian Government scholarship to study the master's program in Russia. Other recognitions include the Outstanding Leadership Award and the Best International Student Award. Additionally, I served as president of the student chapter of SPIE at my university (the International Society of Optics and Photonics). SPIE is a non-profit corporation that promotes light-based technologies. I first formed this society in my university, between August 2017 and June 2018, which I served as president, our local chapter implemented many programs to name a few, we organized a science fair for high school kids, we worked with optics.
