Alternative energies are the future of energy. They will be the force that sustains human life until the end. This is why the US government should invest more in research and use of alternative energy. Alternative energies are all energies intended to replace fossil fuels. Some common alternative energies are solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, hydrogen and biofuels. The United States should use these alternative energies over fossil fuels, oil, coal and natural gas. We currently have ways to store and use these types of energies, but the ways we have are not the most effective. That's why the United States should fund research into better ways to harvest and use these alternative energies. All the alternative energies proposed above are renewable. They will last as long as, or even longer than, the human race. Fossil fuels, however, are not. The United States has a renewable energy resource base. It is practically unused. If the United States invested more funds to fill that base, it would save money in the long run. Why should they spend money on sourcing and transporting fossil fuels when they could produce safe, simple, renewable energy? It is obvious that the United States should spend more money on the use of alternative energy. All the pollution currently released into the atmosphere could be prevented by switching to the alternative energies listed above. This goal has been reviewed by experts and they believe it can be achieved by 2040 if the government and people of the United States transition to the alternative energies listed above. All the alternative energies listed above do not produce CO2 which is harmful to the atmosphere. Another concern is that CO... middle of paper... turbines, solar panels, dams, etc. There is a reserve of land where the US government can place renewable energy machinery, so this is not a problem solution. The United States could stop worrying that a country might disrupt oil trade, and no longer worry about energy. There are many benefits to not switching to the alternative fuels listed above. It is clear that this cannot happen immediately, it will take time, but it must start happening now. If the United States began researching ways to improve these alternative energies, it could solve multiple problems. We shouldn't have to worry about fossil fuels running out, damaging our delicate ecosystem or even harming us, and perhaps even about the economy collapsing in the long run. The benefits are clear and the arguments have been debunked. The United States should invest more funds in research and use of alternative energy.
