There is no doubt that our world is not a perfect world. Crime, disease, and poverty are among some of the major problems that prevent the world from becoming a coherent, peaceful, and prosperous environment. Of course, there are many things that we, the people, do to try to create a perfect world, all one step at a time. One of those things is taking problems, analyzing them, and finding ways to solve them; or as it is called today, research. Without research, things like vaccines, cell phones, the Internet, or even the bills and bills that hold our nation together today would never have been possible. That said, research certainly takes a lot of time, but it also requires a good amount of funding. Millions and even billions of dollars are used every year by research groups to fund scientific experiments, analytical projects, and statistical studies that allow research groups to study and discover new ways to improve modern society. Now, where does all this money come from? from you might ask? Well, through government taxes and donations from public and private groups, millions of dollars in grants and donations are awarded each year to numerous research institutions across the nation, allowing them to sufficiently fund their studies and projects that will presumably go to benefit society every year (NIH). One of the largest and primary funders of research nationwide is the National Institute of Health, or NIH. Each year the NIH shells out hundreds of millions of dollars to federal and private research groups across the nation. Last year alone, the NIH provided just over thirty billion dollars in grants and grants to hundreds of groups and research areas, as shown here. (Chart P... center of sheet... Over the years, scientific misconduct and grant fraud are a growing problem among public and private research institutions around the world. With billions dollars, young careers and the advancement of medical knowledge and technology at stake, we must be able to trust these researchers to use the grant money for the benefit of everyone and not for themselves solutions to the problems that prevent the world from becoming a peaceful and coherent environment are important in realizing such a dream, and it is hoped that as research and technology bring the world closer to peace, the researchers who make this happen will become aware of their actions and how these affect not only the integrity of their craft, but the integrity of the world as well.
