They want them to be successful and financially stable. Parents want students to have security in the future and feel that those careers will provide security; “parents have good intentions; they are trying to guide their sons and daughters into a secure future” (Zinsser 453). However, parents do not realize that in order to be truly successful, a person practicing law, medicine, business or politics must be motivated. These careers require a lot of effort and involve many sacrifices. If they are not performed with passion, the people who perform them will be unhappy. Poverty is the last thing any parent wants for their child. A parent doesn't want to see their child under pressure, they don't want them to suffer or face difficulties. As a result, taking students away from their passion will turn them stressed and unhappy
