Topic > How Family Influences Family Structure - 1735

To this day there is a strong correlation between ethnicity and income and the effect it has on the structure of families., according to Margaret Simms in her article Racial and Ethnic Disparities Among the low -Income Families belonging to racial minority groups are more likely to have lower incomes (Simms). Many people debate why this might happen, but even so, the fact that it happens is not in dispute. After further analyzing the results of my survey, which examined race, income, and family type, I found that different races tend to have different family structures, but that is only because some ethnicities have lower incomes than others. For example, blacks may be more likely to live in single-parent homes, but they are not more likely to live in single-parent homes than whites earning the same amount of money.
