The sad truth was that I lived in a male-dominated environment, and as a woman myself, I would never get the recognition I deserved or wanted. I felt like all my hard work was for nothing and I realized I didn't want to do it anymore. This was the turning point for me. What I really wanted to do was go back to school and follow my dream of becoming a teacher. A dream that I had only recognized months earlier, but which I thought about daily. I started night classes at QVCC and eventually transferred to Eastern to earn my bachelor's degree in English, which I will have in May. My passion for literature is matched by my desire to teach literature and English studies to our youth. From here, I hope to be accepted into the graduate program here at Eastern to earn my Master's degree in secondary school
