Again, describing what the word means, engaging in the history of this word for students, and recognizing what it does to people when the word is used are good ways to start discussions and preparations with students on how to avoid the word. Sometimes, however, we see and as I stated before, that some use the term "nigger" as a word that we understand to mean a friend or someone with whom a person is close. In the classroom, however, teachers should address the two terms and describe the effects both can have on a person. In any case, it is not a good word and should be banned in all schools. Every teacher must work together to get rid of this word so that students can learn and then one day they can teach their own children. Showing students the true meaning assures them that it's not a good thing to say. Why would we go around saying that word to students of color when we know we wouldn't want to be called crackers?
