In the film The Queen, the roles of others in her decision making and leadership can be seen in the life of Queen Elizabeth II. (Frears, 2006) Throughout this article, I will analyze his resistance to change, his dependence on others in decision making, and the roles that Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Prime Minister Tony Blair played in the week between the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and her funeral. I will share my thoughts on the most compelling influencing styles and how I would like to influence others. We see that Gardner's levers for a real world event and the hard reason in the statistics that Tony Blair provides to the Queen regarding the damage to the monarchy are important factors in changing the resistance of a mentality many years in the making. (Gardner, 2006) From the beginning the Queen is very resistant to change; even though she has followed the elections and has already met Tony Blair, she asks his private secretary, Robin Janvrin, about him and finds her conviction that she does not take him seriously strengthened. During their first meeting after Tony Blair's election, the Queen told him he was "my tenth Prime Minister" and stressed that in that time she had acquired the wisdom to advise him. (Frears, 2006) His treatment of Tony Blair during his acceptance into government led him to question his ability to lead a modern population and put them at odds with each other, potentially losing an ally and creating hostility between the government and the monarchy. . Queen Elizabeth II had a certain opinion towards Diana, Princess of Wales, which she believed was difficult and an obstacle to the monarchy. She didn't realize that the public favored Diana and that their continued disdain when the princess was involved in the accident in... middle of paper... is especially true in my role as partner and mother. On many occasions I have acted as Drucker's “adviser” (Drucker, 1999), providing insight to a boss or leader and helping to shape change and improve morale. I also have influence as a resource, generating ideas, looking at an entire situation and trying to create positive change. I hope that as I find roles to help others in my career, I can use my actions and creativity to create positive change. References Baldwin, D. a. (2004). Influence: Gain commitment, get results.
