My teacher gave me and my class many novels to read. But only two caught my attention. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Hobbit. Not only the story caught my attention, but above all the characters in these two books. These two characters are Bruno and Bilbo. They are both amazing to admire for their courage and knowledge. I will write about two great characters who can be very similar but at the same time very different it's a bit complicated. Let's start comparing these characters, let's start with the younger Bruno from The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Bruno is a nine year old boy who lives in Berlin with his family. But then his father gets a new and very important job and has to move out. Bruno doesn't want to move because he doesn't want to leave his best friend and his grandparents behind. When he goes out, he hates it there, he has no friends and now has a smaller house. He notices something outside the window. A fence across the street separated him and the people in striped uniforms. Time passes and he begins to like his new home. One day he went out to explore what he was not allowed to do and never go near the large enclosure. But he passed by the large fence until he saw a little boy. He introduced himself as Shmuel. They talked and became secret best friends. “He looked down and did something completely unusual for him: he took Shmuel's little hand in his and squeezed it tightly.” - Pg.213 "You're my best friend, Shmuel," he said. "My best friend for life."-Page 213Bilbo Baggins is half the size of a human and lives in his hobbit hole. He is beardless and has hairy feet. Hobbits don't like to have adventures, not like dwarves who like to have adventures. One day he is visited by Gandalf, a wizard, and his dwarves, who invite Bilbo to embark on a great journey to defeat Smaug the dragon - a close call because the sunlight turns the trolls to stone. He finds the key to their secret cave and finds himself a sword. Bilbo later gets lost in some underground tunnels and finds a small creature that threatens to eat him if he doesn't figure it out. solve his puzzles but if he does it shows him the way out.
