“Hard work is the key to success” – an adage I believe. Being a mathematics teacher, my father is my first inspiration to study science. With a mini-library he has at home consisting of mathematics and physics books, I can search for any type of book to study. His careful mentorship instilled in me the confidence to tackle mathematical problems. I did exceptionally well in all school level exams. After class XII, I went on to take IIT-JEE, the toughest engineering entrance exam in India for admission to the renowned Indian Institutes of Technology. Qualifying for this exam is the happiest moment of my life so far. After four years of exuberant journey through graduate studies in an IIT with a rank 2 department (in a class of 40) and contemplating the vital educational experience it had to offer, I decided to undertake graduate studies in Electrical Engineering in a reputed university. I was very curious about electronic and electrical devices. Subsequently, this curiosity led me to choose Electrical Engineering as a discipline in university studies. But when I qualified IIT-JEE, I was initially offered a seat in the civil engineering department of Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. With my diligent efforts, I excelled in the exams in the first year of university studies. Subsequently, the institute offered me the opportunity to transfer to the Electrical Engineering discipline. I have always given equal importance to the theoretical and practical aspects of a subject. Dr. Ganapati Panda, who taught us courses like Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, always emphasized learning elements that have myriad applications. It is… halfway through the document… organizations after their study. I worked as a student guide in the counseling service team of IIT Bhubaneswar to help freshers have a comfortable stay during their first few days. I am a member of the Electrical Engineering Society at IIT Bhubaneswar, which helped conduct an intercollegiate event “Electronix”; the electronic design competition at Wissenaire 2012, the annual technical festival of IIT Bhubaneswar. I worked as a core team member in the event organizing committee of Alma Fiesta 2011, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT Bhubaneswar. I took a one-year break after my undergraduate studies mainly to stabilize myself financially and it gave me ample time to carefully choose a graduate program that suits my interest. During this time I work for US Fortune 500, Cognizant Technology Solutions as a senior mobility product developer.
