Animal abuse and neglect are just some of the many forms of animal cruelty, and while efforts have been made to end animal cruelty, many animals are still suffering. Is animal cruelty right in anyone's eyes? You'd like to think it isn't, but in reality there are many people who simply don't care! Any act of violence or neglect perpetrated against animals is considered cruelty to an animal (The American Society of Prevention of Cruelty). Animals do not deserve to be mistreated for any reason (The Humane Society 2)! Animals are not humans; they are helpless, defenseless creations who can only defend themselves to a certain extent (The American Society of Prevention of Cruelty). Animals have feelings and want to be loved, just like people. People often think, just because they can't express what they think or express their feelings, that they don't have any; this is false (The American Society of Prevention of Cruelty 3)! We, as humans, don't like being beaten, neglected or mistreated, so why should an animal like it (The Humane Society 2)? Not Everyone Has a Heart for Animals (The Humane Society 2); however, no one should abuse it under any circumstances (The Humane Society 3)! Many animals are victims of animal cruelty (Siebert 2). People often abuse animals to gain control (Siebert 6). Animals are often mistreated after becoming an increasingly vital member of the family (Siebert 4). In many cases a pet is mistreated because a family member is trying to get revenge on another family member (Siebert 6). Many times people know that they cannot control their family or other people, so they try to control an animal that is weak and cannot defend itself (Siebert 6). No conscientious person would ignore a bored… middle of paper… child, or even an animal. Not everyone is an animal lover, but this is not a reason to abuse them! Animals are loving, passionate and caring. They deserve to be loved just like people do!
