Topic > How Batman (Dark Knight Trilogy) is a failed hero

Everyone knows who Batman is. Batman has many different nicknames, from "The Dark Knight" to "White Light of Gotham". He is the hero of Gotham City. However, he is not the perfect superhero. Whenever he fights a villain like Joker and Bane, his methods are unorthodox for the average superhero. The way Batman fights crime, destroying the environment to do whatever it takes to stop the villain and resulting in collateral damage, makes him a failed hero. Batman's Revenge begins with Batman Begins. As a boy, Bruce saw his parents get killed by Joe Chill and wanted revenge against him. While plotting to kill Chill, Chill is killed by one of the henchmen of Carmine Falcone, the Gotham mob boss. Bruce tries to fight Falcone, but is attacked by his henchman. He decides to join the League of Shadows to learn martial arts. After his training with the League of Shadows, Ra's al Ghul, the leader of the League of Shadows, tells Bruce to destroy Gotham. Bruce refuses and destroys the League and the Shadows, burning their headquarters. Although the League of Shadows was an evil organization, Batman betrayed it. “Bruce Wayne returns to a Gotham City ruled primarily by Falcone and begins plotting a one-man war against the corrupt system.” (Batman Begins Wiki) He goes out of his way to do whatever it takes to stop them. He breaks into Arkham Asylum to confront Jonathan Gray, a doctor who creates a toxin designed to enter Gotham's water supply. When Gotham police officers attempt to capture Batman, he fights them off and escapes in the Batmobile. Later, another monumental event in Batman Begins takes place when Batman fights Ra's al Ghul on a runaway train heading to follow... . middle of paper......they wanted to confront him, so they wanted to lure him by committing crimes. The Joker has done this on many occasions by saying he was going to blow up a hospital and actually did it to get him out. The Joker does this a lot in The Dark Knight because he seeks it out for fun. While Batman isn't the greatest superhero, he makes many sacrifices that many normal heroes wouldn't make, such as taking the blame for Harvey Dent's death and saving Gotham. from an atomic bomb. He would do anything for Gotham's safety at all costs. He cared more about the city than his own multibillion-dollar company. Commissioner Gordon stated that "he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now." (The Dark Knight) Batman is the vigilante who, although he fights more for his own personal gain, cares more about the city of Gotham than anything else.
