Topic > Participatory democracy: the better of the two

Different forms of government have emerged since the development of centralized power. The form of government that has shown the greatest international growth in the last century is democracy. Today there are more than 160 democracies in the world. These democracies, however, are not complete democracies. They are representative democracies created by the leaders of our predominantly patriarchal international system. For this reason, many citizens of these democracies are considered second-class citizens and their opinions are not listened to by the supposedly democratic society. One solution to this problem is participatory democracy. Participatory democracy is better than existing patriarchal society because it enables the progress of society as a whole, eliminates political oppression, and creates a predominantly fair political culture for the citizens it governs. There is much evidence to show that the advantages of participatory democracy far outweigh the disadvantages and that it is a better way of governing than patriarchy. This evidence can be found in historical analysis, the control of the patriarchal international system, the development of participatory democracy, and the values of a participatory democracy compared to the values of a patriarchal democracy. Participatory democracy is when individuals under a governed state are directly involved in legislation and policies that directly affect their lives. The aspiration for participatory democracy dates back to ancient Greece and continues today. When the idea of participatory democracy was invented, it was to ensure that everyone in a society had a say in how they lived their lives. In modern times the idea of participatory democracy, as... at the center of the paper... politics. Participatory democracy is better in this situation also because it creates a better political environment for society. Every form of government will have its flaws, and participatory democracy is no exception. What makes participatory democracy better than patriarchal democracy lies not only in the oppression and injustice of a patriarchal democracy, but more importantly in how that oppression and injustice affects its citizens. Due to inequality between minorities and women, patriarchal democracy alienates a huge percentage of the population. Furthermore, patriarchal democracy puts power in the wrong hands, making its injustice even more drastic. There is no guarantee that all these problems will be solved by participatory democracy, but there is substantial evidence that participatory democracy would create a better society than patriarchal democracy..
