Ethics The reason why most people go into construction is because it is a job skill that can be used all over the world and there are many ways different to earn a dignified living. Due to the current economic situation, construction activity is stagnant. Contractors earn less than in the past and this causes most contractors and subcontractors to cut corners and the client or owner pays the final price for shoddy work. Most of these activities are unethical and dangerous. Ethics is described as a person's duty to perform right actions and have respectable morals. If someone is ethical then they will be able to associate right and wrong and perform ethical acts in all situations. The three main factors always associated with ethics are loyalty, honesty and responsibility. A loyal person or employees are rated based on their trustworthiness in their occupation. An example of someone who is not loyal turns to your competition and leaks important facts about your current company is considered very unethical. Disloyal employees may also speak badly of the boss and deteriorate workplace morale. An example of a person who is considered honest would be one who tells the truth and doesn't hold back. A dedicated bricklayer would under any circumstances pour additional chemicals into the concrete batch so that it can pass a sag and air test. An honorable worker would not take building materials or extra leftover materials for personal use, otherwise he would gain a person who makes wise decisions. If construction managers were to perform tasks and happen to make a mistake, it is very important that he takes full responsibility for his mistakes and tries to resolve them, ... middle of paper ... lack of workers. It also states that unions are legal and states that an employee has a 30-day grace period during which he or she can join the union. If within the 30 day deadline he decides not to join the union, the union can request the employee's release. So far the unions have been overall successful; they were up to the task of establishing rights and equality for all workers. They offered workers better working conditions, minimum wages, maximum hours, and benefits, such as overtime and fringe benefits. This made being a worker a really decent job to read about and have as a career. It has also helped make workers a really important part of society and construction, vital to starting and completing a project. While some people may have mixed feelings about the union, it has had a fruitful impact on workers' rights.
