My goal in writing this article is to change your mind. I believe that mathematics is as or more creative than English. I will demonstrate this through a couple of examples. First we need to understand what is behind the creative aspect in English. Most people assume that English is a "creative" subject due to titles like "creative writing" and "creative thinking" and in contrast there is nothing creative about mathematics. On the other hand in mathematics when dealing with a problem like; if you have 300 meters of fence and you need to fence a rectangular field. What would be the size of the field that would produce the largest area? When mathematicians have to solve one, they have to be creative in solving the problem. Perhaps, one of the best ways to demonstrate creativity in mathematics is through a question about identity. An identity question is when you have an equation and you try to manipulate each side individually without touching the other side and making them equal. We start with something like sin squared theta over cos theta plus cos and the goal here is to show that it's identical to sec theta. TO...
