It's fascinating how when someone has a goal in mind, there's little you can do to change it. At the end of the film, Khaled showed us loss aversion, where loss is more painful than gain is pleasant. Even though the upside was that he survived and didn't go through with the plan, the loss and pain is that his childhood friend died and he should have been with him. It's one of those situations where it's a lose lose. Said knew that Khaled trusted him and knew his personality, which in one case gave Said full control of the backdoor as he had. Furthermore, the two friends were led to believe that what they were doing was honored by their religious leader and that by completing this mission, they would go to heaven. It's sad how there are actually groups out there that consist of and execute instances just like the one we saw in this movie. ISIS is a great example of what modern events are all about. They perceive false perspectives and brainwash people about what the group or leader wants them to think. I firmly believe this is what people fear and what the war on terrorism is like
