An ecologically sustainable Australia will be developed with a fundamental vision towards healthy ecosystems, well-being and social cohesion and a prosperous economy (reference). As educators, it is important to help students from a young age understand “that the way people perceive and interact with our environment cannot be separated from the effects on the society and culture in which they live” (reference, environment .gov ). When we educate our students about environmental sustainability we must provide educational experiences about the environment with “current evidence of our affects and habits, providing direct interaction with the environment, ultimately helping students to voluntarily adopt lifestyles that encourage wise use of environmental resources” (reference,ambiente.gov). To provide these educational experiences, school environments must evolve with the development of a shared vision, goals, and objectives. With all this in mind, we can understand that to have an environmentally sustainable impact we must educate our students to have a biocentric view with an ethical stance that all life is connected and there must be mutual respect of all life on the planet. lands
