Topic > How did the Renaissance period alter man's view of man?

The Renaissance period was a truly enlightening time in history that brought many great advances in all fields of science and invention. How did the time period we know as the “Renaissance” change or alter man's view of man? Well, we know that in the Middle Ages the Church had authority over most people and people had very few rights. In 1400 the Middle Ages ended and the Renaissance began. The Renaissance was an epochal change in Europe that lasted 300 years. Humanity as we know it has been changed dramatically by this rebirth of Europe, a truly eye-opening period of time. The cause of this was that many brilliant minds used their resources to their maximum potential; the beginning of new advances in art, literature and science. What were these advances more specifically? Well, first let's define our terms so we know what we're talking about first. The Middle Ages was the period in European history spanning from the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century to the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Monasteries are one or more buildings occupied by a community of monks living under religious vows. Illiteracy is the inability to read or write. Serfs are agricultural laborers bound by the feudal system to work on their lord's estates. Humanism is a view or system of thought that places primary importance on human issues rather than on divine or supernatural ones. Art has been an enlightening and creative activity that many have taken part in throughout history. How did art change during the Renaissance? In Document A, there is a painting, "Madonna Enthroned Between Two Angels," on the left side of the page that is from the 1200s by an Italian artist named Duccio di Buoninsegna, and Leonardo... in the center of the paper. .....human body and examine it, and they could determine where the muscles, bones and organs were. People could see that the body was not controlled by silly zodiac symbols. Science and art go hand in hand in this particular situation because without knowing how to properly fabricate their findings on a piece of paper, they needed to know how to draw it properly. Without advances in art, they would not have been able to show others the important information they discovered. Science and art have changed man's vision. Literature didn't really help this process, and it was more lateral to the operation, and it helped the world in other ways than just really changing man's view of man. The Renaissance was a truly amazing time period and we should all be grateful to have these magnificent minds like Leonardo da Vinci to understand so many unknown things.
