Uninvolved parents provide their children with the basics, but try to limit the time they spend with their children. Initially people may think that this parenting style only happens in lower class families but, in most cases, we can find this happens to extraordinarily rich and famous families. This parenting style is more common in the upper classes because they have the resources to have other people take care of their children. They spend very little time with the child and emotional involvement is minimal. Perhaps parents have other things to think about, such as career ambition or relationship status among peers and colleagues. These children have been shown to be at greater risk of becoming involved with alcohol and drugs and are more likely to have poor academic and social skills. This parenting style is also known as “neglectful.””.”
