Dante wrote the Divine Comedy, an epic poem that explores the imaginative journey of the afterlife. The poem is divided into three parts, the first is The Inferno which concerns the theme of Hell. Dante introduced a Hell full of torment, pain and punishment. Thus creating a new change in the theme of Hell and the afterlife, where sinful souls were condemned to eternal punishment in a fiery underworld.
